Our projects.

According to the main characteristics of each cultural site and in addition to preserving it, we seek to deepen historical research, to strengthen social relations with its surroundings and to disseminate the knowledge acquired. Our main projects currently in progress are presented below

Activities.

Our main objective is to value the heritage through material recovery and its symbolic and social relations giving full purpose to its preservation, through the following types of services:

Architectural project

With a qualified architectural team, we carry out surveys, schematic designs, design development and construction documents for cultural interest properties to be evaluated by the heritage preservation agencies. We also hire and supervise specialized companies for the elaboration of engineering projects (electrical, hydraulic, structural, fire prevention, etc.), and also for the necessary approvals before the city halls and responsible agencies.

Construction management

Based on thorough processes, Instituto Pedra selects, hires and supervises specialized companies for the development of conservation and modernization works in buildings of cultural interest. To ensure quality from construction works until accountability all of our teams work together. At the end of the process, a “conservation manual” of the restored property is delivered to the managing institution, reassuring that its maintenance can be carried out in a qualified way.

Curatorial and exhibition productions

Based on themes that are considered important by Instituto Pedra and the need to disseminate collections linked to institutions to safeguard heritage, we organize exhibitions, museological and expographic projects, in addition to other activities such as cultural mediation, educational programs, catalog production and other publications.

Collection management

Some institutions present highly relevant historical, artistic and documental collections that need to be preserved. In many cases, they are also collections that may attract great interest from the public. For these demands, Instituto Pedra selects and hires companies specialized in services such as inventory, cataloging, cleaning, conservation, safeguarding, digitalization and other activities to preserve the collection in question.

Education program

Publications

Based on the research regarding our work subjects, we gather historical, technical and scientific material for the publication of video documentaries, books, catalogs and articles. We aim to promote the heritage property in question, the developed activities and their respective social impacts, seeking to also share them as good practices in the heritage field.

Management plan

Considering that some of our projectsforesee the creation or requalification of cultural facilities, we also develop a plan based on the needs of the managing institution. The plan presents territorial analysis, types of use of space, a profile and professional qualification of the team, basic and additional cultural programming, building maintenance services, estimated budget, additional sources of funding and all the information that supports a sustainable and efficient management.

Consulting and Advisory

For some companies and institutions, the decision to carry out one or more projects to safeguard cultural heritage requires a prior strategic and financial look. In these cases, we offer strategic consultancies, which can result in projects to be carried out alongside the hiring institution.
